The low power heater has a power output of 130 watt per m² and covers the entire floor area, ensuring an even distribution of heat through the timber floor. This in turn ensures even expansion and contraction through out the wood floor, with no tension in the floor covering.

All wood floor heating systems are managed by a dual management thermostat that measures ambient as well as floor surface temperature, by means of a remote probe sensor being placed below the floor surface.  The probe ensures that maximum floor temperature of 27ºC is not exceeded (as specified by the South African Wood and Laminate Flooring Association)

Pioneer Floor Heating has developed 2 possible ways of installing under wood floor heating.

  1. Screed Application

The element is affixed to the screed level, covered with a fibreglass mesh as well as a thin layer of screed again. The rooms are then screeded wall to wall as to ensure a smooth level floor surface for the flooring installer to work on.
  1. Dry encapsulated heating system (Similar to carpet heating.)

This is a dry application and the heater is placed on top of the wood floor combilay or rubberlay just below the timber floor. This application is generally used in conjunction with rubberlay as no heat transfer takes place with this product and it is not compatible with a screed application.
